I came out onto the side of a valley area that at one point had seen significant water flow, or reflected some type of glacial erosion (though the latter seems unlikely) [Figure 1]. Anyhow, I headed up the way I thought was the continuation of the FSR. I also encountered a large limestone outcrop in this forested patch, which I am certain houses much of Memorial Day cave. The section of forest I was dead-reckoning through was within the area where the entrance to Memorial is found.
