I can't flip to Imperial at this point in the game. The best clan is up to you, personaly i like the Takeada because of the cavalary Its not the clan that matters but the person sitting behind the keyboard that makes the game work and takes it to the limit #9. The Mori daimyo starts out with night attack which is a really really useful skill. Hojo are the easiest clan to play in my opinion, since you can pretty much ignore naval units (at least on the lower difficulties) plus you have a gold mine and two provinces, that are easy to defend, from the start.
